Launch of the ‘Oasis, Art as Therapy’ project

On November 24th, the Ministry of Health hosted the launch of the ‘Oasis, Art as Therapy’ project. Oasis is an art exhibition, promoting Mental Health and Wellness as it features more than 100 pieces of art created by service users of the Pembroke Street Mental Health and Wellness Centre. The powerful impact of art and the arts on mental wellbeing is emphasised as this exhibition remains open to the public until 4pm tomorrow. In a statement on social media, the Ministry stated that Oasis is intended to “provide an ideal forum for artists to transcend cultural differences and battle stigma surrounding mental health.” TTAP’s president, Kelly Mc Farlane, represented TTAP at the launch of this event in support of this and other initiatives developed to illuminate the importance of mental healthcare and eradication of stigma.
